Zlínský kraj

The zliński land (Zlinsky kraj) is situated in the eastern Morawy region. It borders with Slovakia and the following lands: ołomuniecki, południowomorawski and middle – morawski in the Czech Republic. This land is divided into four tourist regions: Kromeriz, Vsetin, Uhersko – Hradistska and Zlin. In the Uhersko – Hradistska region there is a fertile cultivated area Slovacko and in the Kromeriz there is the Hana area, in the Vsetin region there is the ethnographic area Valassko whose feature is a unique highland wooden architecture and alive till today folklore. Altogether around 30 % of the territory of the zliński land is taken by protected areas. These are areas in the Chriby range (the highest peak 587 masl), in the Beskidy Śląsko – Morawskie range and above all the White Karpaty range (the highest peak Velka Jovorina 970 masl) where there had been distinguished 6 bio – spherical reserves UNESCO. The White Karpaty range is known from its richness and the diversity of occurring here orchids (for example in the area of Certory). In the Kromeriz region it is worth visiting the open – air ethnographic museum in Rymice, the Baroque courtyard in the town of Strilky and the pilgrim church Sv. Hostyn. On the UNESCO list there is the palace in Kromeriz (the XVII century) together with the Palace Garden in the English style and the early – Baroque Flower Garden. In the Vsetin region there is the world – famous open – air ethnographic museum of wooden folk architecture (the Valaskie museum in the town of Rożnowo in the vicinity of the town of Radogoszcz).

The capital city of this land is the Zlin city known from the shoe factory Bata. It is also worth visiting the Luhacovice health resort which takes place 20 km away from the Zlin city.
