The city of Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic, as far as administration is concerned it has been sectioned off as a separate land (province) and at the same time it is the capital city of the central – Czech land. Many people consider Prague one of the most beautiful capital cities of Europe. It is situated by the Wełtawa river, almost exactly in the center of Europe. It is located on 9 hills: Letna, Vitkov, Opys, Vetrov, Skalka, Emauzy, Vysehrad, Karlov and Petrin.

LOCATION
The małopolskie province is located in the southern part of Poland. It covers the territory of 15144 km². This region is divided into 19 districts, 3 cities having district rights and 181 communes. Kraków is the administrative center and the seat of provincial authorities. The biggest cities are: Kraków, Oświęcim, Tarnów and New Sącz.
NATURE AND TOURISM
This region is the most willingly visited district in the country. Its trumps are: perfect conditions for doing mountain tourism and for skiing (the Tatra mountains having the alpine landscape and the Pieniny mountains). The richness of the region are also: monuments, the city of Kraków, the city of Wieliczka, the city of Zakopane and the Krakowsko-Częstochowska Upland with numerous interesting rocky forms. Touring – recreational values attract millions of tourists from the country and from abroad every year. A well – developed network of bicycle, walking and skiing trails and a road network enable a contact with nature. The Tatra National Park with the Five Ponds Valley, the Kościeliska Valley, the Sea Eye Lake, the Kasprowy Mountain are peculiarities having a great tourist value. The architectural complex of the old Kraków as well as the Salt Mine in the city of Wieliczka with a working sanatorium treating asthma constitute a monument having a special rank.
The main aggregation of tourist centers is found in the city of Zakopane (the winter city of Poland), the town of Bukowina Tatrzańska and the town of Poronin. A raft flow along the Dunajec River Gorge also enjoys a great popularity. It is worth visiting the surrounding of the Gorczański and the Babiogórski National Park, the Różanowskie Lake and the valleys of Kamienica and Poprad, too. A constantly alive folklore and the cultural peculiarities of this region, the magnificent diversity of landscape, the richness of flora and fauna, many monuments enabling a contact with history constitute a few values which stay in the memory of the people visiting this province. Numerous spa - towns that dispose mineral waters attract people with various ailments, who desire to improve their health.
