This province is divided into 20 districts, 3 cities having district rights and 177 communes; 42 cities. Łódź is the administrative center. The biggest cities are Łódź, Piotrków Trybunalski, Pabianice, Tomaszów Mazowiecki and Bełchatów.

Region's description
The pilzneński land (Plzensky kraj) is situated in the western part of the Czech Republic. It is gently rolling and cut with a network of rivers and fish ponds. It boasts a beautiful, almost untouched nature. There are here as many as 177 small protected areas. The biggest natural reserve of this region is the Strela canyon (the territory of 300 ha).
