It covers the territory of 17926 km², it is divided into 20 districts, 4 cities having district rights, it has 160 communes and 45 cities. The city of Rzeszow is the administrative center and the seat of provincial authorities. The biggest cities are: Rzeszow, Przemysl, Krosno, Mielec, Stalowa Wola.
